They flutter from the sky
A dance of crystalline creatures
Whirling, spinning, descending
Dappling the air, frosting the land
They link hands and crowd together
A curtain of icy lace
Weaves together
And
A great white quilt
Blankets the earth
I spread my palm
One tiny snowflake settles down
I briefly, quickly gaze at the minuscule wonder
Just as my eyes focus
The snowflake melts away.
